The Central Bank of Colombia officially released a new 20 thousand peso banknote and began circulating on June 30. This is the second denomination out of the six new family of banknotes scheduled to release this year.

Now let's take a closer look, on the front of the banknote as you see below, is devoted to President Alfonso López Michelsen. The 24th President of Colombia from 1974 to 1978.

On the back of the banknote, you will see the image of the canals at La Mojana where the Zenú people settled, and the famous sombrero vueltiao, which means round hat.
