With the temperature dropping, that means it’s time for leaves to start falling too.

As the summer heat starts to fade away, many cities in the U.S. transform in the fall months as their gardens, forests, and wetlands become shades of orange, yellow, and red.

Discover some of the best places in the U.S. to take in the Autumn foliage this year with our list below.

1. Hood River, Oregon

Hood River holds a Harvest Fest every year along the scenic Hood River waterfront where you can take in the colorful fall foliage. Visit Columbia River Gorge, home to over 50 waterfalls among the colorful trees and shrubbery.

“Tehe Pocono Mountains is home to 127 indigenous species of trees, plants and shrubs that illuminate the region come autumn.” There are a number of ways to view this scenery from hay rides and scenic drives along Route 507 to fall foliage train excursions and air tours.

Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and check out The Brooklyn Botanical Garden which has 52-acres to explore full of color. 

Don’t miss the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden which features many maple species that turn beautiful shades of orange, red, yellow, and purple in the fall.
