Andy Beverley
Campaign for Cash · Virtual

Andy Beverley started his working life as an engineering officer in the Royal Navy. After serving for 10 years, he left to become an entrepreneur, founding three technology businesses which he runs to this day. As a tech entrepreneur he knows the benefits that digital systems can bring us, but he is also only too aware of their limitations.

He has always believed in localism and decision-making at the lowest level, and he feels that centralized digital payments are pushing life in the opposite direction, taking power away from individuals and local communities. He says it's essential that we retain universal cash payments to ensure personal freedom and social equality for years to come.

Nabeel A. Ghaffar
Exchange International Pte Ltd

Nabeel A. Ghaffar is the CEO of Exchange International Pte Ltd, the largest privately owned wholesale banknote dealer in Far East Asia by the volume of banknotes traded. He joined the company in March 2011 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Professional Accounting from Macquarie University, Australia.

Nabeel went to Sydney to complete his tertiary education and set up an online money transfer business post-graduation. It was a fintech before the word fintech was labeled as such. Online banking was in its infancy, so he established an online portal back in 2004 where customers could log in using their credentials and transfer money all over the world. He established banking relationships in various countries across the globe, and at the time the only competitor was the banks.

While the world focused on the digital space, Nabeel saw an opportunity to grow the banknote trading business because banks were shying away from cash, and he knew cash would still be required as a medium of exchange alongside digital payments. Today he is the CEO of Exchange International Pte Ltd and the client base spans the globe from East to West. While working in the business, he completed a Diploma in Anti Money Laundering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Compliance from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is also one of only 22 Fellow Members in Singapore of the International Compliance Association (ICA) in the UK.
