Airbnb Wants Travelers to Feel Like a Local
Airbnb has announced a new campaign with a new mission to change the way people travel by helping travelers feel like a local wherever they go. In the latest update on their app, they’re introducing ‘guidebooks’ which is created by Airbnb hosts of each local city.
"The number one reason people chose to travel on Airbnb is they want to live like a local. They don't want to be tourists stuck in long lines, fighting with the crowds to see the same thing as everyone else," said Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO.
They are reinventing the wheel by inspiring travelers all around the world to rethink the way most people experience travel. Their current community of over 2 million homes will share the best restaurants, attractions, and even local hot spots that are hard to find unless you’re a local.
“Guidebooks will characterize each area for people who may prefer a family-friendly neighborhood or one near a central business district to one that is filled with late-night revelers,” according to the New York Times.
Its new feature in the app is also designed to help travelers find best ways to match travelers with the right host. Which would aim to solve the issue of making sure people enjoy and repeat their experience of a home-sharing service.
