Central Bank of Colombia Launches New 5,000 Peso

The Central Bank of Colombia officially launched the new 5 thousand peso banknote into circulation on November 9. This is the fourth new banknote released this year from the family of banknotes that was announced earlier this year.
In an effort to strengthen the security of their banknotes, and facilitate the verification process, below you will see the new images. The front of the banknote will feature the image of the Colombian poet José Asunción Silva.

The back will have the Colombian páramos, ecosystems of unparalleled wealth.
