Google Unveils New Way To Plan Your Vacation On The Go

Google Unveils New Way To Plan Your Vacation On The Go

Google has introduced a new search feature called Destinations, which can be used for some destination inspiration. And what better time to start planning than now? When spring break and summer are right around the corner.

This brilliant new feature allows you to plan every aspect of a vacation or getaway, on the go. So the next time you find yourself in a long waiting line and need to plan a trip, think about Destinations on Google.

They came up with this idea because they "saw a whopping 50 percent increase in travel-related questions on mobile phones." And their top questions received by users were "What are the best places to visit? What time of the year is good to go? What kind of prices can I expect?"

Stephanie Rosenbloom from NY Times reports, “This is the first time Google has introduced a travel tool on mobile before desktop; it’s available through your mobile browser or the Google app on iOS and Android. There’s no drilling down through multiple websites and hopping among them, no entering your desired number of nights or travel companions again and again."

How does Destinations on Google work?

Let’s say you’re interested in going to Europe. On your phone’s Google search engine all you have to do is type in Europe and add the word destination or vacation. Keep in mind it must be a continent, country or state.

Now this same process applies to any place you would like to visit. Then a whole list of destinations along with Google Flights prices and hotel prices will be displayed on your screen. And you can use the filter to organize your search results by dates, interests or price.

Once you choose the destination that matches what you’re looking for, you can then explore all there is to know about your destination. It also includes suggested itineraries, top sights and when are the best times to visit. And it even shows you some videos and other nearby places to explore as well.

Here's a quick video on how to use Destinations on Google. For more travel tips and destination inspiration, join our platinum passport to always get the latest updates.
